Dentoformance: AR Body Scanning & Fitness App for Dentists

The challenge

Dentists spend long hours leaning over patients, holding the same position until each treatment is complete. Over time, that posture changes the body: its alignment, its height and even the position of internal organs. Dentoformance’s founder, a German movement specialist, helps dentists correct this with targeted exercise programmes in one-to-one consultations.

His consultations work, and he had already created a library of exercise videos. The goal was to take that expertise beyond one-to-one sessions and offer dentists anywhere the same personalised guidance, straight from their phone.

The approach

A video library alone isn’t personal, and personalisation is what makes the method work. So we turned the phone into the assessment tool. Together with the founder, we defined the key body measurements and built an algorithm that uses ARKit on iOS and ARCore on Android to scan the body, capture its dimensions and recommend the right exercise programme for each user. WordPress powers the backend, making video courses and user profiles easy to manage.
