Olivers Glutenfreie Welt: Gluten-Free Recipe & Community App

The challenge

Oliver, a gluten-free chef, had built a loyal community of 30,000–40,000 members on Facebook. Every time he shared a new recipe, members cooked it at home and were eager to share their results, ask questions and swap tips.

A Facebook group is great for conversation, but recipes, results and questions all land in one busy feed. The goal was a dedicated home for the community: recipes neatly organised by category, a place to share what everyone cooked, direct conversations with the chef, and grocery shopping made quick and simple.

The approach

The brief started with recipes. We saw a bigger opportunity: an app where the community lives alongside the content from day one. We proposed adding community and chat to the very first release, the client approved, and we designed and built a cross-platform Flutter app backed by WordPress, which powers the recipe CMS, the community and the APIs in one place. After launch, we kept improving and optimising the app for two more years.
